Basecamp Standards

This program is based on the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
However, youth of any religious affiliation are welcome to attend.
All participating in these programs will be held to the high expectations of dress,
appearance, and behavior as found in the gospel of Jesus Christ and other such Church standards. Below is a summary of expectations; however, BASEcamp staff and administration reserve the right to consider and address individual circumstances as needed.

         


Dress

Immodest clothing for young women AND young men is any clothing that is tight,
sheer, or revealing in any other manner.
Young women should avoid short skirts and dresses, shirts that do not cover the stomach, and clothing that does not cover the shoulders or is low-cut in the front or the back.
Young men should wear their pants so as to not reveal their underwear. Shorts above the knees are not appropriate for young men or young women.

         

Appearance

Young men and young women should be neat and clean and avoid being extreme
or inappropriately casual in clothing, hairstyles, and behavior
Young men may have NO piercings: Young women may have one pair of earrings
(one earing per ear).

         

Behavior

Participants may be dismissed from the program if personally involved in,
or assisting in any of the following behavior:
violating the law of chastity—including viewing and/or sharing pornographic material,
theft of any kind,
violations of the Word of Wisdom—including unlawful use of prescription medications,
or actions that are harmful to others, or yourself—physically or spiritually.
While you are free to choose your course of action, you are not free to choose the consequences. Whether for good or bad, consequences follow as a natural result of the choices you make.
